Sand textures and circular shapes

The new IN CIRCLES -series focuses on circular shapes. It was inspired by the circle of life, nature and space, as well as the intersecting forces of light and darkness and the subtle balance between them. This body of contemporary works is both, dynamic and harmonious. In fact, in many cultures, the circle represents balance, continuity and eternal movement.

The series combines earthy shades of browns, grays and beige made from natural earth pigments, and interesting, rough sand textures that could be interpreted as surfaces of foreign planets, or landscapes formed by elements of nature. The metallic details add another dimension to the paintings by making them come alive when the light hits the textures from different angles, depending on the time of day and where the painting is positioned.
